p+a furniture store opens - eCommerce to follow

I had the pleasure to attend the launch of the p+a furniture store last evening. The store, located in the Flack Block building at 159 West Hastings, features bright natural light from the south facing windows, high ceilings, exposed cast iron pillars and a "disco" LED light track running the length of the store's floorspace...

More than 150 people were on hand to celebrate the launch of the store and the line of sustainably sourced and produced furniture. The p+a lines are manufactured in Calgary using responsibly-sourced materials. The centro headboard, daybed, entertainment unit, dining table, and dining sideboard, with their modest footprint, are easily integrated and add beauty to any interior, including compact urban environments.

The store is actually a multi-use space divided into three zones. The public storefront is what you enter off of Hastings Street. You are immediately greeted with a retail space showcasing p+a furniture elements and carefully-selected companions that share the p+a values and aesthetic.

A design library is located about a third the way back in the space and provides a variety of lighting conditions and facilitates playing with colours and textures in situ. Past the library through frosted glass the design studio is visible and completes the customer's design experience of p+a furniture.

Smallbox CMS provides content management for Penner & Associatesand we will soon launch an eCommerce enabled site for p+a furniture. If you haven't already done so, sign-up to receive updates via the p+a furniture eNewsletter, powered by Smallbox CMS.

It's wonderful to see new businesses flourishing in this revitalized stretch of Hastings bordering Vancouver's downtown eastside. Congratulations to Shelley Penner and her team on the successful launch of p+a furniture.
