Smallbox Weekly Design World Updates
Lordy Lordy Look Who's 40?
Do you ever wonder how we end up with things like email, Skype, Facebook and Twitter? I do. It doesn't keep me up at night or anything, but I sometimes wonder how all of the amazing innovations that have now become part of our standard package of business tools originally came to be. Apparently the Guardian wondered about the same things and put together a fantastic examination of the development of the internet and its associated innovations.
Called The Internet at 40 the series includes:
- A people's history of the internet: from Arpanet in 1969 to today
- Forty years of the internet: how the world changed for ever
- The early years
There are some fantastic charts, Did-You-Knows and viewpoints on the evolution of the internet.
