They don't make browsers like they used to!
Fast forward a few years and I find myself returning to this image often when thinking of institutional users, and how they cling to old versions of Internet Explorer. These versions never worked quite right, the problems were fixed years ago by newer versions, and yet in spite of this they old versions are clung to year after year. Like an old man's wretched pants, I guess they don't make browsers like they used to either.
Well for those of us who have grown a little tired of sitting around and watching the IE7 Death Clock slowly tick down. An online electronics retailer Kogan as come up with a novel way which will hopefully help speed things along and hit Grandpa in the one area he cares about more than his pants - his pocketbook.
Customers still using this browser will have to pay an additional 6.8% tax on top of their purchase to help finance the extra costs involved in supporting this worn browser. Even Grandpa might have exchanged his pants if he had to pay something to keep them.
