Today, April 27, is World Graphics Day. Celebrated annually, it marks the anniversary of the founding of Icograda (International Council of Graphic Design Associations) in 1963 and a day to celebrate the profession of graphic design. I often reflect on the state of our industry on this day, and I must admit I'm feeling optimistic.

Since 1978 the Vancouver International Children’s Festival has captured the imagination of kids with an enchanting world of performing arts. For the past five years Smallbox has managed the Children's Festival website and we're pleased to announce the launch of its latest iteration.

This year we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. Today more than 190 countries representing more than 1 billion people participate in festivities and events that promote a healthy, sustainable environment. Earth Day got its start coincidentally around the same time as the development of the internet.

This one day conference on technology and the online environment covered a lot of ground in 10 hours! A mix of keynotes, panel discussions and workshops, F5 offered Vancouver business managers and owners a review of current trends in online marketing.

Here I am, the evening before my 6am departure across the world and I have nothing but my shoes packed so instead of my very well thought out blog post I thought I'd tell you about the best thing that happened this week (so far). This week I got to try out licensed web fonts.
