I had the pleasure of presenting a workshop at IMC Vancouver today on writing engaging website copy and eMarketing initiatives. The IMC conference is an annual event that brings marketing experts together with marketing professionals.

Keynotes at this year's conference included:

Avinash Kaushik - Google's analytics evangelist
Louise Clements - Director of Sales for Facebook Canada

It was a great opportunity to meet local experts and learn about the amazing things they are doing. For instance John Hossack of VKI Studios, recently in the news for helping YouTube increase conversions on their site, presented several workshops on website optimization and multi-variance testing.

Looking forward to connecting with the great people I met after the conference and doing some business together.

Twitter. Tweets. Tweeps. What does it all mean? And, groan, do I really need to learn to do something new?

Short answer: depends. Long answer: probably.

As I wrote earlier in this blog, I'm a recent convert to Twitter. I had a watershed moment the other day when it dawned on me what Twitter represented.

I signed up for Twitter a ways back and then didn't do anything with it for months. I really didn't know why I should try to fit a blog post into 140 characters. It seemed silly and pointless. But then more and more people started using Twitter to keep in touch, to update friends on news and something twigged.
