I came across a blog post today that references Emil Ruder in the online context and I thought it was particularly relevant for web designers. The author, Oliver Reichenstein, principal at Information Architects, an interactive brand agency with offices in Tokyo and Zurich, has written a solid article on the fundamentals of design and specifically about the role of typography in web design.
